Is It Spring Yet?!!

I snagged these photos of the perennial flowers beginning to come back to life after a cold winter.  All I can say is Spring can not get here soon enough.  My favorite season is just around the corner and I will soak up all the beauty it gives  me every year!

Seniors Honored At Last Home Event

Friday evening between the girl's and boy's basketball games, all the seniors (involved with the basketball program at CHS) were recognized. Megan was recognized for her involvement not only as a cheerleader but in other high school activities over the past four years. Above is a photo taken during the event. It seem just like yesterday she was just starting as a freshman in high school...time sure does pass quickly!

Thanksgiving in March

Photo taken during Thanksgiving break 2008

For me, as a believer (aka repent er) every day of my life is a day of thanksgiving.  But there are days when you are especially thankful...yesterday was one of those days.  Megan (blond) was involved in a head on automobile accident riding home with  Jocelyn (her friend) from NWMSU where they had attended a college visit on Friday and spent the night with Whitney.  The accident happened  just a few miles from home on a snowy morning just outside the small community of Osborn.  Jocelyn(traveling east) hit a slick patch on the highway, slid through the median and hit an oncoming car (traveling west).  All three involved in the crash walked away from the wreck with no serious injuries.   Lila and I know we can't be with our children all the time, but we are so thankful that God always is.

Four CHS wrestlers qualified for the (class 2) state wrestling tournament held at Tiger Arena in Columbia this past weekend. Below is a photo and a short information clip about ech qualifier.

Kairos Reunion

Today eleven members of our Kairos prison ministry met for the Reunion at CCRC in Cameron, MO. The reunion marks a three month time period between the last Kairos IV weekend and the upcoming Kairos V weekend the 30th of April through the 3rd of May. In order for the offenders to attend this reunion, they must have attended a Karios weekend and be active in the Tuesday evening "callout" for Kairos,Prayer and Share. The prayer and share is the soul of the Kairos program. As of now, there are on average 58 men that gather every Tuesday evening: Today there were 62 present for the reunion. God is at work in the hearts and lives of these men: He is using them to bring His light into the darkness at CCRC. Below are a few snapshots heading into the institution this morning...no photos are allowed inside during the reunion.

Winding Down

Saturday the dragons ended their tournament season series in the Quad States Classic at Maryville High School. Our older daughter, Whitney is a freshman at NWMSU...so in the late morning (she sleeps in every chance she gets) she drove the short distance from campus to high school. It was great to spend the day with her along with Lila and Megan.

This is how we coaches spend our Saturdays.

Whitney, Lila, and Megan (finding Dakota's shoulder to lean on) watching the matches.
Just like old times...Whitney keeping stats during our competitions.

Flying South

In the above photo (taken in Munich, Germany on our way to Galati, Romania on a mission trip in the fall of '05) is my good friend David taking some video during October fest. Since that time he has traveled back to Romania and India spreading the gospel. Today, he is flying to El Salvador for two weeks to share the gospel with the people there. Please be in prayer for him as God prepares the hearts of the people he will have encounters with.
On a more humorous note, if you know David, his interpreter will have his "two minute story" memorized by the first day...
