Still Grillin

Although it is cold and snowy here in Missouri, it hasn't detoured my grilling efforts. This was dinner the other night...Grilled chicken, sweet potato fries and corn. Just like Summer without the warm weather.

Heading Home

The church in the Valley...It is back in the same location where it was in the Summer of 08'.

Schiphal Airport in Amsterdam, Holland, my last stop before flying into Memphis, TN...A 10 hour flight.

A look at the runway, just prior to leaving European soil.

The mountains over southern Greenland, going from snow covered in the interior to the barren peaks the closer we got to the coast.

I was craving bar-b-que when I arrived back in the states, and this one was at the Memphis airport...So I gave it a taste test. It was pretty good!
I know it is a bit late, but getting this last post up has been very difficult. Upon arriving home, wrestling season started and the Kairos weekend took place the next week to the day I arrived back home. So, needless to say, it has been a task to finally get this post up. It was a time of spiritual growth for me on this trip to Romania. God took me way outside my comfort zone on this trip in order to continue the growing process in my life. I am looking forward to returning again next Summer and Fall if this is God's will.

Three of the six courts at Dachia Racquet Club.

I was able to snap this photo of the hurse in a Romanian funeral processional

Roland and I had lunch yesterday at a Turkish restaurant just past My Full House Pizza on Bralia street; this is inside. It is always interesting to see where Roland takes me to eat.

We had chicken Surma, Turkish style...it was very good.

The moon setting this morning over Metal iron factory.

Finally A Break In The Weather

The weather finally broke and the courts dried out enough for the players to resume their practice schedule. Yesterday was the first hit since Landing in Romania last week. I was able to renew some old friendships with the junior players and also several of the adult players I had met from previous trips here in Galati. My hope is be able to share the reason why I come back to Romania, Galati in particular. I plan on sowing the seeds where ever I go, even in the red clay of the tennis courts.

Rainy Days

Elisa is back visiting Galati from London. Our team met her for the first time here in 2007 when she went into the streets with the members of our team. It was good to see her and catch up on what is going on in her life.
Troy (left), Mihaila ( center), and Donnie. Mihaila and Donnie were married just last weekend here in Galati. In 2005 our team that came to Galati met Donnie for the first time as he lead teams into zone 6 and zone 9.
Good morning from Galati...Yes it is still raining here. I am personally ready for some blue skies and sunshine, possibly tomorrow.

On The Way To Galati

The train station at Buzau on the way to Galati.
On the train headed to Galati.
There is not too much better than good cup of BOLD coffee.
Home sweet home...This is becoming a bit too comfortable for me!

This Morning in Bucharest

Photo in the park that our mission team visited this past summer.

Adjacent to the seminary grounds is one of the thousands Orthodox churches in Romania.

The above and below photos are of the seminary where Richard and Wanda Clark teach classes. For a few minutes this morning in Richard's Church Plant class, I was given the opportunity to give my testimony and a short talk about why I come to Romania and what God has called me to do. I was truly humbled to be given this opportunity.

The big water fountain in the park.
Workers planting flowers in one of the many flower beds throughout the park.

Richard took my photo in the park on the Marriage Bridge where couples have their photos taken together...But he said to tell you Lila, that all is well because Lanny is solo in the photo (LOL).

Photo in the park that our team visited this past summer. The small white dot at the far end of the row of trees is a memorial to the American pilots that lost their lives liberating the country
of Romania during the World War II.

The view outside the Clark's apartment this morning...Welcome back sunshine!

First Day In Bucharest

I accompanied George today and we went into the streets of Bucharest near the universities downtown. We were able to speak John (photo below) a couple of architect students, a gypsy woman and a couple he knew that were repenters. I asked his friends, who were orthodox to begin with, how they came to become believers...and they shared their story with me. It was pretty incredible to hear the hardships he endured because of his conversion.
On the right is a young man named John (he is Romanian Orthodox), that George and Steve Howell spoke with this past summer outside the university in downtown Bucharest. Since that time, George has been meeting with him, talking about how to receive Christ into his life. Today I went with him for their meeting and I was able to speak with him and give him my testimony. He still believes in good works in order to try to get to Heaven.

One of the beautiful fountains not too far from the People's Palace.

The north side of the People's Palace is where the entrance is for tour groups is located. George and I wanted to take the standard tour along with the underground and balcony tours, but they were not available.

George is standing inside the door of the elevator located in the Clark's apartment. It is just large enough for three adults to ride in.

A view of the mountains jutting above the clouds in Northern Scotland from 33,000 feet.

This view greeted me the first morning here in Bucharest. This photo was taken from Richard and Wanda Clark's balcony.

The Landing In Downtown Branson

These photos are eerily similar to a couple of spots I have visited in Europe (above and two below photos).

Dinner here last night...Great atmosphere and food.
