I Almost Missed Out

Monday morning and ready to go to camp (l to r; Casey, Whitney, and Me). This weeks journey to camp...the next journey for us... Romania .

I learned the hard way...when you dish it out, you get your second shower of the day...
and your third...and your fourth and...

These are a few photos of the dedicated Christians that fed us this past week ; Faye, Mike, Anne, and Judy (pictured above). Not pictured: Joe, Virginia, Phyllis and Ruth. They physically fed us while the teachers spiritually filled us up. Here is a photo of RC1 (below). These young men were sophomores and juniors in high school from many different towns throughout our association
It was mid April and I was checking my school mail box before going to tennis practice...there was a note from my good friend Derek. The note said that I needed to call him; so I went by him room at the high school. When I walked in, he simply said, "Well?" "Well, what," I replied. "You know what...well?" "Ask me," I stated again. "No!...I'm the Camp Life boy's director...you know what..." "OK...but I want to be with the older boys!" "Done," Derek replied. This was my invitation to camp this year. Had Derek not asked, I would have missed out on a blessing God had planned for me. What an appropriate theme for camp this year; Prayer Warrior (since I would be leaving the states in just over a week to go overseas ). It never ceases to amaze me what God can and will do in your life if you are obedient to HIS calling. It was a great week of fun; new friendships; memories (I will have for a lifetime); and most importantly thirty-eight life changing decisions ( some for salvation, re dedication, and special service)...and to think I Almost Missed Out.
