Sunday Morning Suprise

This morning Whitney and I were entering the sanctuary for the 10:45 am service (I was attempting to protect my bag of peanut m&m's from my determined, candy stealing child) and
we were making quite a ruckus in front of the church. I noticed a couple sitting near the front left side and they looked familiar, like I knew them, but I couldn't put a name with the face. Whit and I sat in the same row that they were seated in as she continued to harass me about my m&m's. The gentleman walked over and sat down by me and I said to him something like, you look familiar to me..."Randy Meyers," he said as he shook my hand. Now it all clicked in my mind...this is Randy & Teresa from Troy's church in Popular Bluff. I have seen their photos on Troy's blog many times (when they were in Galati, Romania) on short term mission trips with their church. It was great to finally meet them and have them worship with us today. They were introduced to all those that had been to Romania that were in the morning service. Yes, and after church, they were invited to lunch at my wife's and Nancy's favorite spot...El Maguey.

The Meyers will be going to Galati next spring on the Masters Program through the IMB. Below are a few random photos from today's events.

Great job Megan taking that picture. It was amazing to see Randy and Teresa right there in our church. We got to share a wonderful time in fellowship and several of us signed covenant cards to pray for them as they begin serving the Lord. I had the same twinge when I saw them but just couldn't place them. Who would have thought. Just another thing to be thankful for this holiday. Please pray for them and the fields so ready for harvest in Galati Romania.

It was a wonderful blessing to be in God's House with His children, our Brothers and Sisters. And top that off with a good meal and fellowship. It was like going to a reunion with your favorite side of the family. We thank you all so much for all you do for our Father.Randy

Randy and Teresa, I was so happy to get to know the people behind the faces I see on the blog sites. I look forward to renewing our friendship this summer on your "new turf." Praying for you as you prepair to go.

WOW, Surprise!!! I can't tell you how much it blesses my heart to know that you were able to meet my dear friends Randy and Teresa. I am so excited about this. I wish I could have been there. I can't think of a better church they could have attended then FBC. Thinking of the direction they are headed and the encouragement they need. Lanny, I know that you are easily destracted but M&Ms! To tell you the truth...last night Karla, Katie and I were in Zone 9, Karla needed to go into Altex to look at the wide screen TV she is going to buy me for Christmas..

(just kidding) to look at wireless routers and I went over to Billa to buy some M&Ms' Why? Because it is so drab over here durning the winter and moving about thirty shades of gray into the winter with only twenty shades left I needed some color! So I bought some M&Ms. Well all fun aside it blesses my heart that Randy and Teresa were able to worship at the church that keeps this missionary and his family feeling very much encouraged and yes loved! Praise the Lord!

Troy, the reason I had a pack of M&Ms (peanut no less) was because Evelyn (on team #3 that came to Galati this summer) did her Disciple's Cross in our MasterLife opening this morning. IT FLAT ROCKED!!! It was so out of the box, but so easy to relate to...it was beautious, you would have been distracted too!

Anyway, I am so thankful to God that He is sending Randy & Teresa your way. God knows what we need before we ask for it, and He takes care of what belongs to Him...I know God is taking care of you Troy and your family. What great fellowship you all will have when they arrive in Galati. What great ambassadors they are for Living Word...but more importantly for Jesus Christ!

Yea, I wish you could have been here too...
