Vaya Con Dios-Dos

Casey (pilot) and Travis (wanna-be-pilot) navigated our van to FBC, Orrick for an associational youth rally called, Vaya Con Dios II.
Casey shows the correct way to scarf down a rather large taco salad...Unfortunately(for him) I caught him in one of his awkward moments of shoving a large bite into his mouth. The eyes say it all, don't they?
Here our group gets comfortable before the program to begins.

Casey was one of the two feature guest speakers on the night, he spoke on James 4:4-10. The other speaker was Jerry Powell, former Youth for Christ leader (during the 70's and 80's).
There was two Christian rock bands that played, Argo's Crossing and Give Me Sound (above).

Wow! Is that the Jerry Powell that use to be in the Kansas area back in the 80's? If so I was saved at one of his revivals. Where is he now?

Hi Greg...yea that is the same Jerry that was at Youth For Christ in the 80's. I had the opportunity to speak with him during one of the breaks. I can't remember where he is right now.

Any idea on how I can track down Jerry Powell? He had a huge influence on my life as a teen and I'd like to reconnect but have had a tough time finding him. The staff at Youth Front (the old Youth for Christ) haven't been much help.

If anyone knows how to reach Jerry, please email me at shane.hackett@triadmediainc.com

Thanks

Same here. I'd sure love to reconnect with Jerry Powell if anyone knows what he's up to these days...he had a tremendous influence on my spiritual journey as a teen.

If this is the same Jerry Powell (which I think probably is) he has started his own church in Gladstone, MO. Living Word Community Church. check the site at kclivingwordcc.com. He was out of active ministry for about 10 years but is back at the pulpit! Please come check him out, he would love to see old friends.

last i knew, jerry was living contrary to the Word of God as it has been reported that he is living a sodomite lifestyle. I went to his "church" site and it speaks of people's "orientation." We do welcome all sinners to God's grace, but we have to come on His terms, one of which is a proper understanding and division of scripture, and the other is repentance for our sin..be very careful about getting involve again w/ Jerry
